Valparaiso is a wonderful place to call home. Many of us are fortunate to live in comfort and security. Yet as we know, there is also great need here. Working and student families need affordable full-time childcare. 8.5% of Porter County children live in poverty and 11% of our population in Porter County is food insecure, trying to stretch their minimal income among day-to-day expenses - healthcare, housing, education and feeding their families.
As people who care about our neighbors in need, we’ve worked together to ensure that Hilltop serves as a safe space for them to learn, to grow, and to belong.
Talk to the Porter County Community Foundation
When you take the next step and join the Legacy Circle, we work together to give our neighbors the tools that they need to get stronger well into the future. You don’t need to be wealthy to participate. Your gift is combined with others through the investment capability of the Porter County Community Foundation that manages the Hilltop Neighborhood House Fund, which may mean a larger return and a greater impact for generations of Valparaiso families to come.
Some members of our Legacy Circle have contributed to Hilltop’s permanent endowment. These gifts are so meaningful because they create a lasting legacy for you, living on in your name forever, and joining with the gifts of others to create permanent sustainability for the Hilltop mission. Only earnings and interest are distributed – your principal gift lives on forever. Of course, check your options first with your tax advisor.
